There’s an App for the SCGS Jamboree!
The Southern California Genealogical Society is thrilled to announce that an interactive smartphone application has been developed for Jamboree 2011. The app is available for iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, and any other smartphone that has web-enabled browser capability.
A mobile app is cutting-edge technology for any industry conference or trade show. The Jamboree app is the first such mobile application ever developed for use at a genealogical and family history event. It is an extension of the growth of technology to support the search for ancestors, and members of our Jamboree family will be the first organizations to take advantage of this new method of communication.
The app is being developed by Core-Apps, LLC. Core-Apps has developed over 200 mobile applications, including such conferences as the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. --- READ MORE
C Division Basketball: SCGS beat RGS for South Zone title
Jurong East Sports Complex, Monday, April 18, 2011 – Having won the zonal B Division title earlier this year, Singapore Chinese Girls’ School completed the zonal double over arch-rivals Raffles Girls’ School with a 50-38 win in the final of the South Zone C Division Basketball Championship. SCGS playmaker Chloe Alphonso (#5) was crucial in leading her team to a comfortable win as she broke through the Raffles defense regularly with her speed and skills. SCGS never looked back after taking the lead in the first quarter, to the delight of their vocal fans which included their principal and vice-principal in the stands.
On the other hand, Raffles struggled throughout the game against the intensive full court man-to-man press of their opponents and turned the ball over on numerous possessions, to the frustration of their coaches. --- READ MORE
